1.8 Mastering Habits

Course Overview

The dictionary defines a habit as “an acquired behavior pattern regularly followed until it has become almost involuntary.” This, of course, could be a “good” habit, like morning meditation, jogging or yoga, or it a can be a “bad” habit like smoking, overeating or gambling. The purpose of this course is to help you understand how habits work, both on a behavioral level and neurological level. Once you have a sense of how habits form and why they work the way they do, you’ll learn techniques to break bad habits and start healthy ones.

You may be surprised to learn that probably the hardest thing about starting or stopping any habit is moving from thinking about it to actually doing it for the first time! So often the thought of changing patterns in our lives is much harder than actually making the change itself.
