Who do you know that is a great listener?
In general, how would you rank them on the Covey scale of “Ignore” to “Empathetic”?
What are specific characteristics that they demonstrate that help you qualify this person as a great listener? Either set up a call or find a time to meet with this person. Tell them a story.
Pay attention to two things,
- How they listen both verbally and nonverbally and
- How they respond to your story.
Share with them what you noticed.
Inquire as to how they self-reflect on their own listening skills.
