Tracking Schedules
It is important to set time aside to regularly check in on your goals and your progress towards them. Prioritize keeping track of your progress on a daily, weekly, quarterly, and annual basis.
Daily Review
Make a daily to-do list of tasks relating to your goal and check it off at the end of the day. Your daily tasks might feel like only a small piece of the bigger goal but make that daily list a goal in itself and measure your progress through the day as you check off tasks. This will increase your motivation and keep you moving forward each day with the small steps that make up your big goal.
Weekly Review
Look back on your goals and targets for the week, assess what has gone well and where more energy might be needed, and assign yourself a target or sub-goal for the next week to keep you on track.
Quarterly Review
Once a quarter, take a couple of hours to review your important goals and your progress towards them. Take stock of any challenges, review the way you tackled them, and celebrate your successes. This is also a good time to set intentions and review plans for the next quarter to make sure you will reach your goal on time.
Annual Review
Most, if not all companies, have a policy of performing an annual review of their progress towards key goals, as well as individual performance reviews for members of the team. These individual reviews are a good opportunity to review, set, and track goals and your progress towards them. This is also a good time to ask for support in reaching your goals and to develop strategies for overcoming any challenges that are holding you back.
